File this one under: “Ahh, what can I make for dinner!?” It’s not really a recipe, since I never make my pasta that way. But really just an idea if you’re in a pinch.
Spaghetti Bolognaise is very popular here in the UK. Spaghetti, tomato sauce, hamburger mince, some spices maybe an onion and some garlic. It’s a basic meal, really. Quick, relatively brainless to make. Popular. Simple.
If you replace your hamburger mince with some non-meat mince, cook it up in the tomato sauce, it’s very nearly the same thing. It’s just as comforting and delicious. What kind of non-meat mince?
QUORN makes a tasty vegetarian mince, but it is not Animal Free since they do use egg whites. (Why they can’t figure out how to get them out, I don’t know. But for now, they are in there.)
Your own mince is very easy to make, starting from the AF Sausage recipe here. After you steam and let the AF sausage sit overnight in the fridge, just chop it up in to tiny bits and give it a quick cook in a pan with a smidge of olive oil and some chopped onion and garlic. Maybe sprinkle a little parsley or basil on while you’re at it. Throw it in with the tomato sauce and that’s that.
